MITRA AMBASSADORS PROGRAM OVERVIEW

As formally defined and recognized at the Congress of Vienna (1815), ambassadors were originally regarded as personal representatives of their country’s chief executive rather than of the whole country. More widely, an ambassador is known as an official envoy, or highest ranking diplomat who represents a state or in some cases an international organization. The word is also often used more liberally for persons who are known, without national appointment, to represent certain professions, activities and fields of endeavor.

The purpose of the program is to provide training for selected students who have shown potential – the training will help these youth prepare for and increase their chances of gaining overseas scholarships to continue Masters and PhD studies.

The MITRA Ambassadors Program is an international professional training course with a total of 200 training / credit points granted over 8 stages: each stage offers a total of 25 points. The course is aimed at building capacity of MITRA leaders in the following areas:

  1. Planning of Education Pathways
    1. This stage will allow for MITRA leaders to plan their future education pathway with the final goal being S2 or S3 overseas. Plans, research proposals, and academic publications are important in this field.

 Planning of Career Pathways

    1. This stage will allow for MITRA leaders to plan their career pathway and improve their employment prospects by gaining crucial documents, work experience and references.

 Short term social impact plan

    1. MITRA is all about helping local communities in Eastern Indonesia. Social also helps leaders contribute more while gaining more benefits like scholarships and awards.

 Document writing

    1. Writing skills must be proved with publications. If you are not published you will have difficulty proving your writing skills and raising your profile through your work.

 Social Media

    1. In these modern times, we must optimize our use of technology and social media to maximize benefits and reach our professional goals. This is more than just facebook, twitter, Instagram.

 Professional Development

    1. In these modern times, we must optimize our use of technology and social media to maximize benefits and reach our professional goals. This is more than just facebook, twitter, Instagram.

 International Engagement

    1. Have you built international networks? What have you done with them?
    2. How will you ever get an international scholarship / join a conference or other program if you don’t know how to write a good application. Writing applications and submitting to international sponsors is an important skill.

 Long-term social impact and legacy

    1. All our work has to have a purpose. MITRA works to help disadvantaged communities in Eastern Indonesia in order to overcome inequality across the nation. We help others and in doing so, help ourselves. We innovate and create new ideas and initiatives. We make long-term impacts for social change and leave behind a legacy long after our lives.
    2. This module requires a visioning process.

The course can be completed on a flexible basis, however, awards and funding will be offered to those who complete the program with the highest level of certification, the fastest.
